The present paper clarifies the reality of the sun (Shams) in the context of its existence and its all-encompassing role in the human and cosmic system in the light of the Qur’an and scientific research. Since time immemorial, the sun has been fundamental to the survival of life, the acquisition of energy, and the regulation of time. The Qur’an includes it among the signs of the Creator of the universe, highlighting its role in maintaining the continuity of the system of day and night through light and heat. From a modern scientific perspective, it is regarded as the greatest source of energy and life. In this study, the linguistic and intellectual aspects of the sun, the reality of its existence, and its multifaceted role from both religious and scientific perspectives have been examined. As a result, it emerges that the sun is not only indispensable for the continuity of human life but also plays a fundamental role in sustaining the universal system and evolutionary structure of the cosmos.
